A pearl of the Crossroads Arts District, City Tavern offers one of the most beautiful dining rooms in Kansas City, complete with delicious new takes on traditional tavern fare. Executive Chef Jason Czaja nurtures a menu full of such mouth-watering entrees as the Shellfish Pot Pie, Filet Mignon, Fisherman’s Stew and Colorado Lamb Chops. Chef Czaja insists on using as many fresh local and regional ingredients as possible, including certified Hereford beef and chicken and pork from nearby farms.
What doesn’t come from around here is flown in daily from the North Atlantic and Pacific Northwest. City Tavern’s Oyster Bar is always stocked with a variety of the freshest hand-shucked oysters. Taste one and you’ll instantly forget that Missouri doesn’t border an ocean. Oysters are just $1 in the bar until 9 p.m. every Monday night.
