Mission Statement:

The mission of this association shall be to support, promote, advance, and encourage the revitalization of the community as a thriving, safe and attractive center of art, history, enterprise, commerce, culture, residence, entertainment, education and other activity; to inform and educate the members of this association and the public about community issues; to provide a forum to address community objectives and issues; to build a strong community through communication, cooperation, planning and leadership; to build a strong partnership between business owners, property owners, tenants and residents to ensure community involvement; and to enhance the quality of life within the community.

Committees

In addition to its Board of Directors, CCA is organized into four primary committees - each with very active subcommittee groups creating great things for our community! Please contact the chair of the committee for more information about activities and scheduled meetings. We always welcome new ideas and participation.

Infrastructure - The Crossroads Anti-Graffiti Initiative (Graffiti Removal Program) and coordination of a Neighborhood Security Patrol are works in progress for this very busy committee. A Community Planning Committee currently is being formed while the group continues to explore such important issues as community safety, smooth integration of what are typically considered nuisance businesses, and traffic planning for access from I-35. Committee chair is David Morris.

Community Enrichment - The Visual Arts Cooperative, a collaborative marketing effort for the galleries and artists of our community is the initial ambitious program for this committee. This committee also has its eye on creating similar cooperative opportunities for Crossroads merchants and restaurants to help publicize the area as a unique entertainment destination! This committee also is responsible for community social events, general members' meetings, public art, and all things at the heart of our community. Jeff Becker is the committee chair.

Marketing/Communications - Foremost, this group assures timely notification about issues, meetings, and opportunities. In addition to monthly email/fax news about committee activities and upcoming meetings, the Marketing/Communications Committee is working on enhancements to our web site, a new member welcome package, a media kit, promotional tools for economic development in our community, and a member benefits program. Stacie Tindle is the committee chairs.

Finance - All these great activities and programs require not only extensive volunteer time, but also money. As this committee's name implies, it is responsible for helping CCA and its committees to identify appropriate funding sources for our dreams. Members' dues fund CCA's operations and administration costs. Private donations and program fees fund our other programs. The Finance committee is developing a database of government, foundation, and private funding available for future programs. Don Omer is the committee chair.

Programs and Services

First Fridays:

Many of the art galleries in the Crossroads Arts District are open from 7 till 9 pm on the first Friday of each month. Though First Fridays don't necessarily coincide with the varied opening nights of each gallery's new show, you can now enjoy touring galleries at this time. Download our map to see gallery locations and which are participating in the First Fridays schedule. And while you're in the neighborhood, enjoy dinner at one of our many fine, independently owned restaurants. For more information, or if you are a gallery owner or artist who would like to participate in cooperative marketing efforts for First Fridays, please contact. Insert new chair name here.

Crossroads Anti-Graffiti Initiative (CAGI)

The Crossroads Community Association is proud to announce a new effort, the Crossroads Anti-Graffiti Initiative (CAGI). This program will help eliminate a growing problem in our community—the damage being done to our property and the public’s perception of the Crossroads by a group of very aggressive graffiti vandals. Graffiti is an expensive burden for property owners and creates the impression of crime and neglect. But now we are fighting back!

CAGI FAQ
- What are the requirements?
Your property must be in good standing as a CCA Member.

- How do I request graffiti removal?
Download, fill out and submit the consent form. Mail it to the address on the form or fax it to 816-474-2027.

- Who does the Crossroads Community Association (CCA) contract with?
We contract with a company named Blast-It-Clean (BIT) to remove it. A .pdf file of their procedures and CCA discounted cost is here.

- How quickly will the graffiti be removed?
As a rule BIT is able to remove the graffiti within a week after we receive the signed consent form. Occasionally it might take as long as two weeks due to BIT’s work schedule and/or weather conditions.

- How will I be billed?
We will bill you with an invoice via email which is due upon receipt. We ask that you please pay the invoice promptly as this is a service that the CCA is passing through at our cost as a service to our membership.
